Who is Taylor?

With over a decade of experience working with children as a nanny, Taylor has long been passionate about supporting families. Her calling to birth work began in 2016 after attending a close friend’s birth, where she witnessed the profound beauty and transformation of the experience. She trained as a birth doula in 2019 at Natural Resources with Michelle Welborn, CPM, and has since supported more than 60 families as a birth doula and over 10 as a postpartum doula.

In 2022, Taylor began her midwifery education at the National Midwifery Institute and apprenticed with Michelle Welborn before continuing her training with Nancy Myrick at the San Francisco Birth Center. She has attended over 15 births as a student midwife. Taylor is also a mother of two — both born at home — experiences that have deepened her understanding of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in meaningful ways. In addition, she has encapsulated nearly 70 placentas and is happy to offer this service to clients.

Taylor brings a calm, capable presence and a “can do” attitude to her work. She believes birth is best supported by listening to the body and creating an environment rooted in love, trust, connection, and informed choice. Outside of birth work, she enjoys time with her family, yoga, rollerblading, foraging, and being near the ocean.

  • “From the moment I met Taylor I knew I wanted her to support my pregnancy and birth- she was warm and empathetic, with a calming demeanor. She was nonjudgmental about my birth preferences and knowledgeable about all things birth related. In short, Taylor was everything I was looking for in a doula.”

What is a Birth Doula?

A Birth Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a pregnant person (and their partner) before, during, and after childbirth. Their purpose is to help families have a safe, memorable, and empowering birth experience. Doulas have a lasting positive impact on the well-being of the entire family.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A Postpartum Doula is a professional who provides information and support to a postpartum family after childbirth. They support families with infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They may also help with light housework and cooking.

I had the honor and pleasure of supporting my best friend through her labor and birth in Kansas. She is a vlogger and we video’d her birth. If you want to see a little taste of the way I work, this may give you an idea!
